Let us consider the source and symbolism of the Rosewood name.
The rosewood tree is a prized tropical hardwood exploited
for centuries and is now as threatened as the rain forests and
the air we breath. The unsustainable harvesting of this
species has lead to its demise and rarity. This rare quality
makes it expensive and consequently more desireable. It
is a trophy of the affluent. One may conclude that "Rosewood"
would make an appropriate name for a company that values profits
and lavish consumption over equality and conversation.
