Rosewood revises proposed site plan
Designers have nearly doubled the number of Rosewood Resort
guest cottages
tentatively planned for Sonoma's Upper Mountain Cemetery property,
following
a site plan revision completed this weekend.
"The two-bedrooms went down, and the buildings went up,"
project spokesman
Hal Thannisch said yesterday morning.
Thannisch said that the 105-room total is unchanged, but that
planners decided to
cut the number of suites and add more "standard rooms"
- increasing the number
of actual cottages from 20 to approximately 35. He added that
the four-room
cottages' 1,500-square-foot foundation size will remain the same,
but said the
plan does call for using a "greater percentage" of
the building site.
No agreements have yet been made regarding the sale or lease
of the 60-acre,
city-owned parcel. Rosewood is expected to file a development
application later
this month. The Sonoma City Council will consider the request
at a special
meeting April 29.
