Leader Training

All Cub Scout Leaders must complete the Youth Protection Training, New Leader Essentials and the Leader Specific Training before being recognized as a fully trained leader. Several opportunities for training are available through the Redwood Empire Council, Marin Council and SF Bay Area Council. Click here for training schedules and additional information.

Additional outdoor training must be completed before taking boys on overnight camping trips.

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is required for the leadership of a pack camping experience.

OWL (Outdoor Webelos Leader) training is required for the leadership of a Webelos camping trip.

WLOT (Webelos Leader Outdoor Training) presents 'how to' in planning and conducting successful Webelos Den parent and son overnight campouts and other Webelos outdoor activities.
